Finnforest's Kerto laminated veneer lumber is to be used to create a public art installation near Tower Bridge in London.
Artist Toby Paterson's Powder Blue Orthogonal Pavilion in Potters Fields Park will use Kerto to create a "visually light and refined" modular timber structure. This has been designed using planes and elevations to "allow light and space to flow".
The structure forms part of the Portavilion art project that aims to create a host of public-access pavilions across London's parks and " a unique trail of modern architecture and art". Mr Paterson's pavilion will be open from July 4 to September 28.
"Kerto was chosen as the primary material for my Portavilion work for its versatility, inherent strength and the ease with which it can be cut and assembled," said Mr Paterson.
"The material's ability to take a painted finish was another attractive feature, as is the fact that the timber comes from a sustainable source and can, if ultimately necessary, be recycled."
Kerto is also being used to create the Architectural Association's summer pavilion in Bedford Square, London, known as the Swoosh.
