UKTFA hosts free networking event for South West firms

Businesses in the South West who want to cash in on the growth of timber frame are being encouraged to attend a free UKTFA networking event The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA), the trade association and business support organisation for timber frame manufacturers and their suppliers, is hosting a free networking event for South West businesses. Experts will be on hand to explain what support is available to grow their businesses as well as addressing current issues within the industry, such as zero carbon homes and the latest technical guidelines. UKTFA member companies produced over 50,000 housing and commercial units in 2006, a growth of 8% from the previous year. The value of timber frame manufacture has also risen by 10.9%, estimated at £540m in 2006. It will be chaired by Lawrence Young, director and chairman of the membership committee of the UKTFA, and will feature presentations by Joe Martoccia, director & chairman of the PR & marketing committee of the UKTFA, and technical and training managers, Steven Streets and Ray Curran.
